Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been practiced for over 2,000 years. During acupuncture, a primary modality of TCM, hair-thin needles are used to direct blood flow and restore balance within the body, which helps to support our innate healing responses. Acupuncture is known to reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, regulate hormones, balance emotions, and positively influence the nervous system. While acupuncture is immensely beneficial as a standalone practice, complementary modalities of TCM may be offered such as herbal medicine, gua sha, fire cupping, tui na, moxibustion, and more. As a holistic therapy, each patient’s treatment will be tailored to their specific needs. The practitioner will work alongside the patient to create a treatment plan that aims to both resolve symptoms and improve the patient's overall condition. Acupuncture can assist those looking to address:

• Emotional health, stress, anxiety, and/or depression
• Cycle support and menstrual health, irregular cycles, dysmenorrhea, painful periods, PMS, and/or assistance coming off of birth control
• Hormonal imbalances and fertility assistance (IVF, IUI, FET, timed conception, egg freezing cycles)
• GI and digestive health, IBS, pain, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, and/or acid reflux
• Headaches, migraines, tinnitus, and/or TMJ
• Sleep issues, insomnia, and/or fatigue
• General health + wellbeing and more…

This could include myofascial releases, Neuromuscular Therapy, Orthopedic Massage, Sports Massage, Swedish Massage, stretching, and even stress reduction techniques. A session may include all of these or just one of these. In addition, we can utilize an active-passive technique called Rossiter Therapy, which is related to Rolfing and Structural Therapy. This technique will include the client lying, clothed, on the ground and going through a series of orchestrated movements while being stepped on. This creates a profound release of the tissue as well as activation of dormant muscle fibers. The outcomes include more mobility and movement of the joints, muscles, and improved overall health of your body.

Poor movement patterns and trigger point dysfunction can lead to decreased performance, injury, or both. Pain conditions like neck pain, sciatica, shoulder pain, tennis elbow, back pain, hip pain, knee pain, ankle and foot pain, and more, often stem from joint instability or limited range of motion. Each chiropractic treatment begins with a thorough movement assessment, where we observe activities like walking, squatting, or lunging to identify dysfunctional movement patterns. Assessment includes locating trigger point chains, or patterns of muscle tightness and tension that can contribute to pain and limited mobility. Our approach includes a combination of effective treatments designed to restore function, including but not limited to:
    •    Joint Manipulation and Mobilization: Joint manipulation, or an adjustment, is used to restore movement to restricted joints in both the spine and extremities. Joints can become restricted due to factors like poor posture, trauma, or inefficient muscle activity. When a joint becomes restricted, nearby joints often compensate, leading to excessive motion, pain, and potential degeneration. Adjustments help release this restriction, improving joint mobility in ways that exercises or posture correction alone may not achieve. In addition to enhancing range of motion, joint manipulation can reduce pain and relax overactive muscles. If preferred, the practitioner can offer joint mobilization as an alternative, which involves applying gentler force and typically doesn’t produce the popping sound, often associated with adjustments.
    •    Soft Tissue Therapy: If tightness or pain in muscles, tendons, or ligaments is present, specialized soft tissue techniques can be utilized, including tool-assisted therapy and post-isometric relaxation (PIR), to release adhesions and improve tissue mobility.
    •    McKenzie Method: This method is particularly useful for spine-related issues like back pain, neck pain, or sciatica. It focuses on educating the patient on proper posture and exercises to manage pain and prevent it from coming back.
    •    Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS): DNS helps improve coordination of the muscles and nervous system, targeting conditions including, but not limited to, back pain and shoulder issues. The goal is to restore optimal movement, allowing the patient to move pain-free and perform at their best.
    •    Neurodynamics: For nerve-related conditions like carpal tunnel or sciatica, "nerve flossing" techniques can be used to improve nerve mobility and alleviate symptoms like tingling, numbness, or weakness.

Each treatment will be tailored to the patient's needs, as determined by the practitioner, to address the root causes of pain, restore function, and help the patient move better, so that they can perform at their highest level.
